On February 15, the House of Representatives stood up for the people of Tibet by passing H.R.533, the Promoting a Resolution to the Tibet-China Dispute Act, with broad and bipartisan support.
 
Now the Senate must finish the job by passing S.138, the companion bill to H.R.533. As a constituent and a supporter of the Tibetan people's right to enjoy democratic freedoms and human rights, I urge you to cosponsor S.138 today and call for it to be passed as soon as possible.
 
The Promoting a Resolution to the Tibet-China Dispute Act will clarify American policy that the dispute between Tibet and the People’s Republic of China must be resolved in accordance with international law, including the United Nations Charter, by peaceful means, through dialogue without preconditions.
 
It also refutes Beijing's false claim that Tibet historically belonged to China and states that the PRC has failed to meet the expectations of the United States to engage in meaningful dialogue with Tibetans, and empowers the State Department to counter Chinese disinformation on Tibet.
